Some Assembly Required!

April 2025

Building a swing set in exchange for smiles

This family was referred to us by Pause at Center Pointe Christian Church. She reached out to get some help with a swing set assembly. We jumped at this opportunity to bring men and women to help with this small project.

Her family consists of a six year old and a set of triples that are four years old. That's enough for her to handle, how could she possibly assemble this large swing set by herself and watch those kiddos at the same time? The CIA. There were five large boxes of parts and great instructions (sarcasm), but with many hands a lot can get accomplished in a short amount of time. It took around four and a half hours of assembly to get the final product. The work was worth it, those kids were so excited to have that new play set and I think mom was very happy as well.

Here are her words from that evening after we left.

"There were so many giggles and smiles, my heart was exploding. The so needed this to help them grow and thrive. We face many developmental challenges that life gets hard, but days like today are why we push through the bad days.
Today is a core memory, they may not fully grasp the underlying blessing yet but I do and will be sure to tell them stories of how God blessed us through your group today. Words cannot express our gratitude but I hope these smiles can."
