Homelessness doesn't always mean that the individual lives downtown on the streets and doesn't have a place to sleep at night. Most of the time, family and/or friends allow for individuals or families to "crash" at their own homes until they get back on their feet. That is the story here, a friend had stepped in for her to have a place to stay until she could get a place of her own.
We were contacted through a gentleman who lives in Colorado that had been helping by paying for the storage units needed to house her belongings. He started calling churches and non-profits in the Butler County area to see if anyone could help with the move. After being told no four or five times, someone suggested that he reach out to the CIA and that's how God connected the dots for us to get involved. Word is spreading of the good work we are doing and it helped change this situation for the better.
Once we heard of the ask we jumped into finding volunteers to coordinate the move and God provided who and what we needed to pull this off during the work week. It was a long day of work and truly a team effort to get everything moved in one trip. At the end of the day, she had her bedroom assembled so she could have a place to sleep, her kitchen stocked with the essentials, family room setup up, and the rest of her belongings in the home to sort through as she finds the time. What a blessing to help someone in such sort notice. God keeps providing the opportunities to love, we just have to make room to show it.
