Showing up so He can show off

We were blessed to meet Marla, who lost her husband two years ago. Through word of mouth she found the CIA and reached out to see if we could help her with some exterior projects around the home. She is a mom of a blind multi handicapped adult child who needs special care at all times. It didn't take long for us to realize that we were in a home that shared our faith in Jesus. What a huge blessing to be able to support this family in a way that impacted their daily lives. Our volunteers were able to complete the tasks at hand but more importantly they were able to talk to Marla. Hearing her story left an impact on us all. By the time we left, she had smiled, cried and truly laughed for the first time in a long time. God used us to restore some joy in her life and that was a gift.
